Challenge

Network analysis graphs can be powerful tools for constructing knowledge representations. But building a complex graph can be challenging.

  • Graphs can contain hundreds or thousands of points, and constructing graphs can be time consuming.
  • Students don’t know how to construct graphs

Solution

Inquirium worked with Indiana University to develop a collaborative tool that enables researcher teams and classrooms of students to enter and work with data together in real time.

  • Net.Create can support many concurrent users working together to add and edit nodes and edges.
  • The graph results are plotted in real time.
  • Users can analyze, search, and filter the graphs results.
  • Node and Edge types can be customized with different labels and colors.

Results

Net.Create is currently being used in research labs and classrooms from middle school through higher education. Middle school science teachers are constructing ecological models. Undergraduates are constructing graphs based on historical texts.

We are actively working with our partners to make this readily available to make it possible for anyone to host a custom collaborative network graph.
