SeeSaw: Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What computers does SeeSaw run on?
A. SeeSaw is a cross-platform application that runs on Windows 98 through Windows XP as well as Mac OS 8 through Mac OS X. The computer should have at least 32M RAM in order to run SeeSaw.

Q. How do I report a problem with the evaluation copy?
A. Email us. We'll do our best to address your problem quickly.

Q. How come SeeSaw doesn't do [your idea here]?
A. SeeSaw, like most software, will evolve over time. This initial version of SeeSaw has been developed in collaboration with leading science education researchers to focus specifically on helping students deal with complex decision-making. In particular, it helps students to articulate criteria and to understand how different perspectives on these criteria can lead to different decisions. The narrow focus for this version helps us to build a core set of tools that is targetted at helping students with this activity. That being said, we're always improving our products, and we're happy to hear your ideas about improving SeeSaw.

Q. OK, I like it, how much does it cost?
A. Pricing for SeeSaw individual, classroom, and schoolwide licenses will be made available when SeeSaw 1.0 is formally released. Our intent is to price SeeSaw competitively with other educational software.

Q. When I buy SeeSaw, what exactly do I get?
A. For evaluation purposes, we make all material related to SeeSaw available on our website. If you download the release version of SeeSaw -- which you can do without purchasing a license -- you'll get the application, documentation in HTML format, and several example project files. However, the software will not run beyond the end of the evaluation period. When you buy SeeSaw, you'll receive a license and registration code that enables you to use SeeSaw beyond the expiration date.

Q. Does my license ever expire?
A. No. Once you buy SeeSaw 1.0, you can use it forever.

Q. What about future updates?
A. If you purchase SeeSaw, your license will include free updates throughout the academic year. The latest version of the software can always be downloaded from our web site.
