The Global Warming Project

The controversy over global warming and its potential impact provide the context for this 10 week middle school science project, in which students learn about the scientific factors contributing to the debate. They act as advisors to the heads of state of several nations, and explore the issue as they respond to the various questions and concerns of these leaders. To accomplish this students will need to understand and be able to explain what forces affect our climate and what global warming actually means. They will then help the different leaders understand how global warming affects them and what they can do about it. A team of students will be responsible for advising one country and will present a proposal with solutions that address the concerns of that country.
